As a freelance writer I provide creative copywriting and communication services for digital and print. In a nut shell, I write words. Short copy. Long copy. Words for the web. Words for brochures. Words for magazines. Whatever the medium and the word count I write to inform, entertain and engage.
Growing up I wanted to be a marine biologist or a writer. The latter was fuelled by a love for words and a pretty vivid imagination! But science was never my strongest subject at school, although I did have a flair for the more creative courses. So in the end it’s not really too surprising that I’ve ended up writing for a living.
My background encompasses both online and offline copywriting, as well as writing articles for newspapers and magazines. I’m experienced at adapting the tone and language style of any given piece for a wide range of target markets and audiences. Coming from a traditional media background, when it comes to web copy I take great care not to write for search engines alone: I write for people and not just Google or Bing. It helps me to avoid the trap a lot of search engine optimised content falls into – keyword spamming and a lack of personality. And I get results. My content has ranked on page one of Google in organic searches.
I mainly work with marketing and digital agencies or small businesses, helping them to address their marketing needs by providing customised content that is engaging, relevant and always well written. This could be in the form of a blog, optimised website content, copy for emails, newsletters or social media marketing.
Aside from my love of writing, I’m a little bit obsessed with Apple products and I love playing Words with Friends. And when I’m not sitting in front of a computer researching and writing, I’ll probably be out and about somewhere, taking photographs – or in a coffee shop, drinking a latte and eating cake.
