Never underestimate the importance of well written unique content. It’s equally as important to your website as is its design and optimisation. Whether it’s an about us page, news article, landing page or blog post, relevant content which is clear and compelling will add value to your website and help you build an online reputation by engaging with your target audience.
Frequently updated content (that’s well written and engaging) is the key if you want your website to be seen to have value and rank well for specific keywords and phrases in search engines. The higher the value the better rankings which in turn leads to more traffic. Content needs to be relevant, authoritative and useful, fine tuned to speak to your audience and with clear calls to action.
As a writer, I thoroughly enjoy taking on big projects and will happily embrace the challenge of producing complete content for a brand new website. Events Go
Events Go provides fully escorted holidays to Chengdu in South West China. An offshoot of the Perth-Chengdu Cultural and Economic Development Association, Events Go has been established to market Chengdu to West Australians.
Mataka Travertine
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Mataka has been established for over 30 years. They provide products for residential and commercial use, including travertine floor and wall tiles, natural stone products for dry stone walls and solid polyester resin bathtubs.
Haus Accommodation
Haus Accommodation provides budget accommodation in Perth, targeting mostly backpackers and travelers. Centrally located close to Perth’s CBD, their facilities range from private rooms and mixed dormitories to separate dorms for women. Check out their website for more information. Scope of work On this occasion the brief was to write SEO copy for Perth based Haus Accommodation’s new website. I was tasked with providing content for five pages, which included writing an informative article about Perth and Western Australia. All copy needed to be search engine friendly, targeting specific key words/phrases.
52 Cards
52 Cards is a small UK based business, which specialises in handmade greeting cards for all occasions. Celebrating life’s events with special and unique greeting cards, 52 Cards produce a wide range of custom made handcrafted cards. Scope of work To provide SEO copy for handmade greeting card company, 52 Cards. I was asked to update the existing content, in addition to writing new content. This included rewriting their FAQ page and writing new content for their “about us” page. I also manage their social media Facebook page.

When he’s not in statistician mode, Pete is a self-published creative writer. It was his passion for writing that has led him to write and self-publish his first ever book: Dreamer, Drifter, Drunk. Essentially a collection of anecdotes, Pete describes the light-hearted read as a “licorice allsorts collection of stories about all sorts of liquorish people. Scope of work Local author and statistician Pete Carter required content for a new website to help promote his self-published book and statistical consultancy business. Working with Tse Yin at TAD Graphics, it was my job to edit and rewrite the copy that Pete had provided.

Scope of work Freelance photographer Ronan Sweeney requested my help to provide content for his brand new website, to be utilised to showcase his images and promote his services. SEO friendly copy was required for the home page in addition to copy for an about page, contact page and services page.

Producing targeted web copy to drive visitors and sales, subjects can range from home improvements and energy efficiency to solar energy and other types of renewables.
